Remedy & Peer Review
Remedial Strategy Development
Loureiro’s remediation peer review process allows for a thorough analysis and determination of the most appropriate site remedy or combination of remedies by drawing on our expertise in a wide range of remediation technologies, risk assessment evaluations, and state and federal regulatory requirements. Loureiro also uses our on-site laboratory to assist in our remediation peer review process and conduct in-depth technology evaluations that identify and avoid potential failures. In many cases, more than one technology is required as part of an optimal strategy. Hybrid strategies can vary from simple source excavation and disposal with monitored natural attenuation of the groundwater plume to in situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) coupled with enhanced bioremediation.
Peer Review
Remedial applications can be a significant expenditure toward achieving site goals. Just as it is often wise to get a second medical opinion for a major health care decision, it makes financial sense to have Loureiro conduct a second look. Loureiro regularly conducts peer reviews of site:
- Conceptual site models
- Pilot and treatability test results
- Remedial designs and applications
- Post-application results
Through our remediation peer review process and strategy development, we can help avoid financial pitfalls (failures) and have been able to convince regulatory agencies to amend governing site documents.
